Gloria Estefan
Tribute to Gloria Estefan:
“Hear my song” (‘Oye mi canto’)! That is what Gloria called out in Spanish during her heyday!
Gloria Estefan represents the Latin side in our Groovetop Tribute offerings. The Cuban-born American singer and composer conquered the world in the 1980s and 1990s and became the queen of Latin pop. In doing so, she created an entirely new genre at that time and was the forerunner and matriarch of singers such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, but also of the more Latin pop repertoire, as performed for example by Enrique Iglesias.
She won 5 Grammys. Her repertoire ranges from commercial Latin pop, through sing-along ballads, to authentic Cuban salsa.
Many listeners and fans see Estefan’s repertoire as a coming-of-age and the emancipation of the Latin genre in contemporary pop music.
Danceable listening songs of a musically very high level.
This Tribute evening will be a celebration of recognition recognition and an ode to this lady who grew into one of the greatest icons from Cuba in modern music/pop history.
Melody Gardot
A Tribute to Melody Gardot:
This is an ‘out of the box’ tribute to a singer who is less known outside the jazz circuit, but deserves some broader recognition. Melody has already performed four times at the North Sea Jazz Festival, making her a welcome guest and a ‘regular feature’ for fans and visitors of this festival.
Beautiful dreamy bluesy vocal melodies, through which she creates somewhat theatrical listening songs. Primarily atmospheric music performed by a singer with a beautiful, almost classically trained voice. Melody’s singing is compared to various singers from different musical styles such as Norah Jones, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Edith Piaf, and Astrud Gilberto.
Her concerts are always major events, and this tribute will also be a memorable evening.
Bill Withers
Tribute to Bill Withers:

For us, that is no longer a question; he is one of the great stars of the jazz and pop industry who has meant a lot to the genre and has also influenced many contemporary artists. Songs like: “Lean on Me,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and “Just the Two of Us” have connected different generations of fans, listeners, and musicians.
A tribute to Bill is a celebration of recognition and a string of beautiful musical gems that this musical genius has produced.
“Grandma’s Hands” already predicted it: This tribute will delight many visitors!!
Maxwell
Tribute to Maxwell:
“Don’t ever wonder whether you should have realized that you are the highest of the high”! This Tribute also honors one of the great stars of the Neo-soul movement.
Maxwell was in the early and mid-1990s one of the founders of this movement. With his Urban Hang Suite Album, he managed to warm millions of listeners to this then-new style, which drew on the soul and funk of the 1970s.
Maxwell also collaborated extensively with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, and D’Angelo. Fans of those artists often found enjoyment in Maxwell’s concerts as well.
In 2025, he was still seen as one of the great stars of the North Sea Jazz Festival 2025 and gave a now already legendary show there. Now, Groovetop has also dedicated a Tribute to him to honor Maxwell’s great musical legacy.
Prince
Tribute to Prince
A Tribute to “The Artist formely Known As”! Wow, what a genious he was!
The music of Prince is a mix of black and white musical influences, such as the funk of Sly & the Family Stone and James Brown, the screeming rockin guitars of Jimi Hendrix, musicality of Stevie Wonder, discofunk of Chic, soul like Marvin Gaye, latin-bluesy rock like Carlos Santana, smooth and sexy sounds of Curtis Mayfield and the pure melody of Joni Mitchell.
Prince often used his falsetto voice, especially in the first years of his career.
It feels impossible to sum up the numerous hits this legend has created.
In addition to recording his own music, he wrote songs for and was covered by many other artists, such as Alicia Keys, Sinéad O’Connor, Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Céline Dion, Sheena Easton, Martika, Joe Cocker, Tom Jones, Simple Minds, Kid Creole and The Bangles.
A superstar like that needs no introduction and deserves a musical tribute played by skilled and dedicated musicians.
